Turning the Tables on the USA

•February 10, 2008 • 8 Comments

Apparently the tables are being turned on us by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez who says that if Exxon Mobil Corp. wins court judgments to seize billions of dollars in Venezuelan assets then he will declare “economic war” on the US by refusing to sell Venezuelan oil to us.
Chavez even went so far as to say “If you end up freezing (Venezuelan assets) and it harms us, we’re going to harm you,” turning his words to U.S. President George W. Bush. “Do you know how? We aren’t going to send oil to the United States. Take note, Mr. Bush, Mr. Danger.”
This is a startling commentary actually about how weary other Countries have become of Bush’s constant bullying and sanctions.

Exclusive! The FBI Deputizes Business

•February 9, 2008 • 1 Comment

This is another in a long list of disturbing information coming to the surface on this subject of spying and the possibility of martial law. I strongly suggest that you read this full article.
Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does—and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to “shoot to kill” in the event of martial law.

FBI wants palm prints, eye scans, tattoo mapping

•February 6, 2008 • 14 Comments

The FBI is gearing up to create a massive computer database of people’s physical characteristics, all part of an effort the bureau says to better identify criminals and terrorists.
This is ‘Big Brother’ taking things a bit to far. Really it is the beginning a society where you can be tracked anywhere, any time and all your movements, and eventually all your activities will be tracked and noted.
This is the direct result of the fear-mongers who want us to walk in fear suspecting everyone around us to be of sinister intent.
In my view of “it” this raises some serious privacy issues. It makes the Government privvy to all our personal information even if we are innocent of any wrongdoing.
How very Orwellian.

The Truth Will Set You Free – But First it’ll Piss You Off

As you know this weekend was a Celebration for Bloggers.
It was ‘BlogRolling Amnesty Day’ a day when, in theory one could make requests of other Blogger’s to add them to their Blogrolls without impunity or fear of getting laughed right out of Blogtopia.
So, being who I am, I went and requested that the following add me to their Blogrolls:
Crooks and Liars
Instapundit.com
Daily Kos: State of the Nation
It is to my great sorrow that I have to report that the request was not honored and I am not on any of those Blogrolls (sigh).
It’s a sad time indeed for me.
I suppose I will remain in Blogatory until next year (sniffle)
Ok I’m over it – moving right along.
The good news is these nice people have been added to my Blogroll:
Alien Trucker
Moue Magazine
Political Cat
Three Sticks
Wife Speaks
Wetmachine
Web Labs
Drinking Liberally in New Milford

They Lost Ugly!

•February 4, 2008 • 1 Comment

I cannot believe my beloved Patriots lost.
Where the hell was their defense – in Foxboro?
The Giants hit, sacked, stripped and rattled Tom Brady which is something that rarely happens.
A Brady-to-Moss touchdown pass put New England ahead 14-10 with 2:42 remaining.
Holding New England to only two touchdowns got them beat but actually, a defense that squandered too many opportunities on New York’s final series doomed the Patriots.
